Job Summary
Senior Production Technician ? Glass Room Operations:
A technical position reporting to the Production Manager/Director of Operations that involves coordinating activities of workers engaged in glassroom operations, operating a variety of complex machines use in Chaff fabrication, interpreting job orders, planning flow of materials, interfacing with others, inspecting products to verify conformance, coordinating workers, maintaining production records. Responsibilities include overseeing the production area, training new machine operators, perform equipment set-ups, and assist/correct in trouble shooting problems.
Primary Responsibilities:
Execute production plan; evaluate production operation; troubleshoot processing problems; monitor equipment operation; assess operator training level and requirements; provide recommendations for process improvements.
Setup and operate equipment in support of department's objectives.
Ensures that safety procedures are followed; reports potentially unsafe conditions: uses equipment and materials properly.
Assists as required in the training of manufacturing personnel to achieve their highest level of proficiency.
Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Production Manager/Director of Operations.
Maintains the highest ethical standards.
Understands and lives by Esterline's ethics and business conduct policies.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common documents, procedures, and instructions.
Use of Multi-meter / other instruments for safety and basic troubleshooting.
Understands and practices Lockout/Tag-out.
Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or other system defects and make necessary repairs within capabilities.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and must have legible handwriting.
Must work with MS Word, Excel Spreadsheets, Data Analysis and Outlook programs.
Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control and associated data analysis.
Candidate must show an outstanding degree of judgment, organization, planning, initiative, flexibility and creativity.
Must be able to work calmly and reasonably under pressure from demand for production and other exigencies.
Teamwork capabilities and Leadership skills required.
Forklift certification preferred or ability to successfully obtain license.
Exposed to noise, dust and hot conditions.
Lifting materials up to 25 pounds.
Push / Pull up to 700 pounds racks.
Stand in one or several places for hours on end while making a batch, conducting routine tests, etc.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
AA degree or equivalent manufacturing/supervision experience
Self-motivated starter with demonstrated maturity and a good sense of responsibility and analytical skills.
Good communication skills and high degree of integrity.
Able to interface and work productively with operators, peers and upper management.
Ability to read and write English and compute mathematics.
Work Hours
4-10 hr days
40 hour week
Overtime as needed

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
