Social Worker Investigative,Assessment & Treatment

Harnett County Department of Social Services is currently recruiting for a Social Worker Investigative, Assessment and Treatment to work within the Child Protective Services Unit. This position will provide advanced, professional level casework which will include providing protective, investigative and case management services for children in emergency situations who are at risk for neglect and/or abuse.
This may be an after-Hours/second shift position with hours ranging from 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm Monday - Friday.
Annual Salary:
Minimum Salary: $48,171.00
Job Rate: $57,805.00 Examples of Duties
This position will provide protective services for children from birth to age 18 years of age and will include investigation of alleged neglected and abused children and will substantiate the alleged neglected or abused child as prescribed by federal and state guidelines to include testimony in court hearings, follow up with case management and preventive services for clients. An employee within this position will analyze situations and determine appropriate courses of action immediately or in short time spans and often under very stressful conditions.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or Master's degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a four year degree in a human services field or related curriculum and three years of social work or counseling experience; or graduation from a four year college or university and four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related human service field providing the experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of work experience can be credited for completion of the social work collaborative.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
